A day in Stockholm, Sweden
on a cruise on the Jewel of the Seas Page 3
We arrived in Stockholm on the morning of June 3. The weather was
beautiful - no, it was gorgeous!
Our goal was to visit the city central where they made a show of
changing of the guards.
These photos are a bit out of order, as we traveled from the port to
the city central and found an interesting church on the way. I have
hard time with the fact that neither of us took a photo of the
outside of this church.
We found a Finnish church right there in the central. In the back
yard there was a small statue of a (supposedly) Finnish boy. Well, why
waste energy in telling the story when you can find it on the web - one
place right here. Now,
let's take a peek at the changing of the guards.
After the changing of the guards ceremony, we returned to the port
area, which we found interesting.
Above: views taken around the Port of Stockholm area.
Soon it was time to return to our ship and set sail to Helsinki,
Finland, our next port-of-call.
Our next stop was Helsinki, only a short trip across the
Gulf of Finland. (Why is it named as the Gulf of Finland when
it is in between Finland and Sweden? Shouldn't it have been named
"Gulf of Finland & Sweden?)
Enough blabbering! Let's go to Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
